Chapter 8      First Saddling

First Saddling
If you did a good job of sacking out the colt, the weight of the saddle should not bother him.

Once the colt will stand quietly while I brush him and rub the saddle blanket all over him, I introduce the saddle to him. This is just a continuation of sacking him out. If he seems curious about it when I approach him, I will let him sniff the saddle, but generally I just go ahead and put it on him.
