Chapter 5      Tying a horse

Tying a horse
Learning to stand quietly is a very important part of the horse's education.

In theory, if a horse has learned enough patience to stand quietly while tied, this patience will carry over to other activities. simple things like standing still while we brush him, trim his feet, and get on and off him. Although tying him up will not teach him these things, it will give him the patience to learn them.
