Chapter 12     The First 30 Days

The first 30 days

To continue building this foundation during the first 30 days, I like to give a colt lots of quiet miles, letting him relax and enjoy being ridden. But at the same time, I also begin quietly teaching him the basics of many things. He doesn't need to do them real fast or real fancy, just willingly.
